Nomi e-i

Nouns e-i
We’ve already seen that most singular nouns ending in -o are masculine, while those ending in -a are feminine. However, there’s another group of nouns, those ending in -e in the singular, which can be either masculine or feminine. These nouns don’t follow the same predictable pattern, so it’s important to learn their gender individually.
Many nouns in -ore, -ale e -iere are masculine:
attore > attori (m.)
stivale > stivali (m.)
giardiniere > giardinieri (m.)

Many nouns in -ione, -udine e -ice are feminine:
azione > azioni (f.)
abitudine > abitudini (f.)
attrice > attrici (f.)
