Futuro semplice

The futuro semplice is used to:

• indicate an action which is happening in the future

"Domani andrò in vacanza" → I'm going on vacation tomorrow
"Tra mille anni la civiltà sarà diversa" → In a thousand years civilization will be different

• indicate uncertainty

"Che cosa farò senza di te?" → What will I do without you?

• express a supposition

"Anna è in ritardo. Sarà bloccata nel traffico" → Anna is late. She must be stuck in traffic / Perhaps she is stuck in traffic

• express a doubt or a disagreement

"Sarò anche giovane, ma non sono ingenuo" → I may be young, but I'm not naive

Please note that verbs ending in -care and -gare add the letter -h- when they are used in the futuro semplice. For example:
applicare: applicherò, applicherai, applicherà...
pagare: pagherò, pagherai, pagherà...

essere: sarò, sarai, sarà...
avere: avrò
andare: andrò
bere: berrò
cadere: cadrò
dare: darò
dire: dirò
dovere: dovrò
fare: farò
porre: porrò
potere: potrò
ridurre: ridurrò
rimanere: rimarrò
sapere: saprò

tenere: terrò
